About Earl Plato

Earl Plato (1931-2017) went to be with his Lord and Saviour December 2017.  He left behind his loving wife of 61 years, Elaine.  His five children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren miss him dearly.

Earl was a graduate of McMaster University with a B.A. in History and an M.Sc.Ed with History options from Buffalo State University.

He proudly wore the U.E. designation earned by his United Empire Loyalist ancestors – Bowen, Jansen, May, and Plato.

He had a deep love for local and Canadian history. He has served twice as President of the Bertie Historical Society. Mr. Plato has written numerous weekly columns on local history and Nature for Fort Erie and Niagara Falls newspapers.
